Food Whore by Jessica Tom Giveaway! (US only)

Food Whore
Jessica Tom

Full of wit and mouth-watering cuisines, Jessica Tom’s debut novel offers a clever insider take on the rarefied world of New York City’s dining scene in the tradition of The Devil Wears Prada meets Kitchen Confidential.

Food whore (n.) A person who will do anything for food.

When Tia Monroe moves to New York City, she plans to put herself on the culinary map in no time. But after a coveted internship goes up in smoke, Tia’s suddenly just another young food lover in the big city.

But when Michael Saltz, a legendary New York Times restaurant critic, lets Tia in on a career-ending secret—that he’s lost his sense of taste—everything changes. Now he wants Tia to serve as his palate, ghostwriting his reviews. In return he promises her lavish meals, a bottomless cache of designer clothing, and the opportunity of a lifetime. Out of prospects and determined to make it, Tia agrees.

Within weeks, Tia’s world transforms into one of luxury: four-star dinners, sexy celebrity chefs, and an unlimited expense account at Bergdorf Goodman. Tia loves every minute of it... until she sees her words in print and Michael Saltz taking all the credit. As her secret identity begins to crumble and the veneer of extravagance wears thin, Tia is forced to confront what it means to truly succeed—and how far she’s willing to go to get there.

Kate McGovern

A heartrending but ultimately uplifting debut novel about learning to accept life's uncertainties; a perfect fit for the current trend in contemporary realistic novels that confront issues about life, death, and love.

With a fifty-fifty shot at inheriting her family's genetic curse, Rose is skeptical about pursuing anything that presumes she'll live to be a healthy adult-including her dream career in ballet and the possibility of falling in love. Sweet Desire, Wicked Fate by Wray Ardan Giveaway! (Open internationally!)

Sweet Desire, Wicked Fate
Wray Ardan

What Jaden knew for certain:

1. Buried family secrets can be deadly when uncovered.

The hairs on Jaden's arms rose as she saw the jug's strange contents slowly unfold. Tiny limbs stretched, bony fingers moved the ceramic shards off a distorted face, and citrine-colored eyes sprang open. Jaden's body went rigid. She sucked in a ragged breath as wiry tendrils lashed out from the malformed thing and plunged their sharp tips into Jaden's ankle.

2. She wanted Briz.

The innocent girl Jaden had been earlier today, trembling from her first kiss, was nowhere to be found. Now she wasn't feeling the least bit pure or virtuous. Taking hold of Briz's shoulders, Jaden drew him closer, letting her lips fondle his. This time he didn't stop her.

3. The American poet e.e. cummings was right.

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

Passenger from Greece by Norma Jennings Giveaway! (Open internationally!)

Passenger from Greece
Norma Jennings

A place crashes... an unexpected romance ignites and burns hot... but betrayal sears deeper in the heart.

In this beautifully written and thrilling story, the innocence of youth and first love fans the destruction of lives. Written in a classic tale of love, lust and criminal behavior, Passenger from Greece takes readers on a sensuous, visually told, hair raising epic tale of Olivia Reid. A feisty, resourceful, smart and beautiful international flight attendant, Olivia embarks on a seductive and perilous affair that spans the Caribbean, New York City, Crete, and ocean voyages on the yacht The Adonis, which is frequently found anchored off the stunning coastline of the old city of Chania, by the bay of Suda. But Olivia soon faces a devastating revelation about her new husband, and it takes all the courage she can muster to step out of the rubble of a disastrous union.

Passenger from Greece explores the menacing issue of larger countries using the Caribbean as a conduit to smuggle drugs into the U.S., the bonds of family, the lengths sons will go to please their mothers, and the misdirected journey of youth. Readers will love, hate, and take pity on the main characters, and simultaneously be perplexed by the collision of emotions that the book has stirred in their very souls. Passenger from Greece is a must-read for anyone who loves stories filled with international intrigue, complex family dynamics, gravely flawed decisions, and romantic moments powered by the fever of first love.

2015 Holiday Party Look Essentials: Express Black Friday Deals Alert + #EXPSWEEPS Giveaway! (US only)

It's that time of year again. Regardless of whether you actually celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's, you can't avoid the fact that it's the season of Hallmark-card get-togethers. You're bound to receive dozens of holiday party invitations each winter, and if nothing else, they're a great excuse to get dressed up and feel fancy.

I think everyone should have a few holiday staples in their closet, so I've done a little "window shopping" at Express to bring you my favorites for 2015! Ranging from all-eyes-on-me and bold to classic and understated, these fashion essentials, many of which are included in Express's amazing Black Friday deals, will have you covered for any occasion:

Burgundy Tones

bold: be the glitz and glam of the party in this sequined cocktail dress. The red sequins are glittery and totally holiday-appropriate while still being completely wearable due to the muted red undertones.
classic: wear something casual but still holiday-themed in a dress in a similar, but non-sparkly color like this surplice wrap dress. You don't have to take the extra effort to scream CHRISTMAS with this piece, but other party-goers will still know you've got it on your mind.

Effortless Cami

bold: sometimes you can't be bothered to go all the way with a dress, but a well thought-out outfit featuring a statement top like this lattice neck cami can make as large of a statement as a sequin dress will. I'm a sucker for the cutout patterns, and this one's sexy but not over-revealing!
classic: if bright reds and peekaboo cutouts aren't your thing, a more understated yet equally easy option is this sequin-embellished racerback. The sequin accents are just enough to put you in a party mood, but the rest of the top is basic enough for you to be able to get away with it in any context.

Festive Accessories

bold: when I wear statement necklaces, I go all out. This mixed chain collar necklace can be paired even with the simplest top or dress underneath, and still steal the show. Bonus: unusual and accent pieces like these are usually great conversation starters because everyone and their mother will be wondering where you got it!
classic: rose-gold hues are perfect for the holidays and this gorgeous analog bracelet watch is bound to turn heads without being over-the-top. Such a classy (and practical!) wrist piece that would also make a fabulous gift!

Must-Have Heels

bold: straight from the runway, these glitter and mesh heels are eye-catching and slightly experimental. You'll get compliments all night, but let's face it: you reeeaally want these because you know how amazing they'll make your legs look.
classic: yes, you could opt for flats for a less flashy look, but what's a holiday party without heels?! These sleek heeled sandals are perfectly minimalist, but still have a flare of red to really make a statement. Wear these with a simple little black dress (see below) to seriously make them pop—the color of your shoes can make or break an entire outfit!

Little Black Dress

We're nearing the end of this holiday essentials lookbook, so I'll conclude with my choices of Little Black Dresses from Express. Everyone needs a go-to LBD, holidays or not (extra text formatting thrown in on "everyone" for emphasis). And no, that's not a weird marketing ploy where I say you need this, you need that just to get you to buy my product (I'm not even selling you anything!)—it's just basic fact. It can be dressed up or down depending on shoes, accessories, leggings, outerwear, etc., and this versatility is what truly makes the LBD the quintessential all-occasion party piece.
bold: remember when I mentioned my obsession for cutout patterns? Well, I wasn't kidding you; this Grecian-style mini dress is calling my name! The daring bar pattern wraps around the entire waist to show off the perfect amount of skin, and the pleated flare skirt adds a flirty, feminine touch.
classic: in the same vein of flared skirts, this bell sleeve dress is a subtle yet completely enchanting piece that I would wear to anything, not just a part: a concert, date night, or even on vacation! It's airy and effortless, yet still slightly formal with its long sleeves, making for a truly put-together and universally flattering look.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at ’89 Walls by Katie Pierson + Giveaway! (US only)

'89 Walls
Katie Pierson

College is not in the cards for Seth. He spends his minimum wage on groceries and fakes happiness to distract his mom from the MS they both know will kill her. It’s agony to carry around a frayed love note for a girl who’s both out of his league and beneath his dignity.

Quinn’s finishing high school on top. But that cynical, liberal guy in her social studies class makes her doubt her old assumptions. Challenging the rules now, though, would a) squander her last summer at home, b) antagonize her conservative dad, and c) make her a hypocrite.

Seth and Quinn’s passionate new romance takes them both by surprise. They keep it a secret: it’s too early to make plans and too late not to care. But it’s 1989. As politics suddenly get personal, they find themselves fighting bare-fisted for their beliefs—and each other—in the clear light of day.

Drop the Act, It’s Exhausting! is one woman’s call to all women to embrace the imperfections in their lives and to air their “improper” thoughts about relationships, love, sex, parenting, careers, self-esteem, and self-image. By no longer being ashamed or apologetic about how they "really feel,” women will become more aware of who they are and more accepting of themselves and one another.

As a reminder, you do not have to follow my blog to enter, though it is always very much appreciated ❤
Good luck!
