Valentine's Day Giveaway!

Plan your St. Valentine\'s Day and save the date with EdenFantasys - the sex toys shop you can trust!
Who's looking forward to Valentine's Day this year? Who's absolutely, unreservedly dreading it?

I think my excitement for Valentine's Day always directly correlates to the level of relationship assurance I have every year: do I have a boyfriend or not; does the guy I'm texting seem interested in me enough—or cute enough, for that matter; will I be spending the entire day with a tub of Häagen-Dazs and my Jopen Vanity... these are the thoughts that run through a girl's poor mind come February!

That being said, I learned last year Valentine's Days isn't all that bad spent single, either. Albeit, I've had some pretty damn depressing I-thought-Peter-would-finally-ask-me-out-today-but-he-didn't ones in the past, but being single for the first time in a long time really washed all my worries away.

Valentine's Day 2012 was the first I'd been single in four years, and even though I had a few guys I'd been seeing on and off offer to take me out, I declined. The previous four VDays had been spent with four different guys, and they had been starry and incomparable. They were a lot to live up to; I wasn't going to disappoint myself by settling for less.

So what did I do to compensate? I brought a girl friend over and we watched Love Actually (twice!), ate carmel corn until we fell under diabetes risk, had Italian (the food, not the men...) and then hit town to point and laugh at lovey-dovey couples wearing matching pink t-shirts and holding oversized teddy bears. To me, they looked absolutely miserable. It didn't matter that I had once been that ridiculously in-love and that I probably would be again in the future. All I cared about was how the day had been amazing regardless of my single status, and how it had officially made the Best Valentine's Days Ever list. It was going to be even more for the next year to live up to Americanflag

Edenfantasys has been generous enough to offer a $25 gift card to their store for Books à la Mode readers, right in time for Valentine's Day! Who needs a significant other when you could splurge on books, lingerie, and body products all for yourself? Here are a handful of my favorite items that are $25 or less:

To enter, all you have to do is one easy-peasy thing. Tell me: What was the best single Valentine's Day you've ever had? If you're like me and have almost always been in relationships at this time of year, tell me instead what you would get from Edenfantasys if you win the gift card.
One comment/entry per person. Please include your email address so I can contact you if you win :) Giveaway ends February 6th, and is open to international readers—hooray! Be sure to stop by our sponsor, Edenfantasys's site, to see what they have to offer.
At the risk of sounding like a self-help book—or, well, your mom—don't let your happiness on Valentine's Day depend on whether or not you are in a relationship! That isn't what's important. And always, always remember:

Much love for the day of love,
